Configure EVDO with Puppy Linux

Hi

I am using BSNL evdo service from a long time. I did not switch to better services of Tata,Airtel or Reliance due to some unknown reason (i do not want to disclose :D )

I heard from many sites that BSNL evdo give better speed with linux. I started my mission on EVDO on linux .i got some beautiful information from below link.

i tried , Ubuntu & Fedora , I was not having enough luck.Speed got worsen. I don't know reason?

Also :

1. I have to download few 1.5 GB of data as fedora & ubuntu
2. Unnecessary, installed Linux in my Laptop (you may try live CD to avoid this)
3. Installed number of packages.like wvdial
   
4. Many more tweaks ..
   

After few more attempts withy tinyCore linux and DSL linux. I tried with Puppy linux.

1. It took me 20 mins to download current release as a ISO file.
2. I made my usb bootable..unetbootin.sourceforge.net
3. inserted evdo and usb
   
4. Booted puppy linux from my usb
   
5. clicked on Connect utility
6. Choose dial up - anloge modem
7. entered my phone number

Connected to internet in 2 sec now.I feel i am getting better speed thn windows and any other linux distro.

It has following advantages:

1. All OS in USB only..Nothing changes with you beloved laptop
2. Boots in 5 sec
3. Enjoy a faster OS ..which is all laying in your RAM
